Hires Four Superstars for the Summer, All from Washington and Lee University is continuing to grow and make changes, so a group of summer interns to assist the startup company’s rise was inevitable. Four interns were hired for the nine week summer internship program in 2020, and they all hailed from a small liberal arts college in Lexington, Virginia called Washington and Lee University.

Upon their arrival, they were split up into marketing and usage roles, getting OneClick’s name and mission out into the world as well as figuring out how to improve the product, website, and social media. Coming from all different backgrounds and interests, the interns worked hard together to form an identity and create content to drive traffic to the website.

Before the W&L students head back off to college for the year, here’s more about them and what they have been doing this summer as a part of

Hi! I'm Lillian Weitz and I’m a rising junior at Washington and Lee University majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Philosophy. I’m from Bryn Mawr, PA, right outside of Philadelphia. Outside of my studies, I’m the Head Captain of our school’s cheer team, I coach gymnastics, I rep for a custom apparel startup, and I love to explore Lexington with my friends. This year I hope to become more involved with our campus’s Office of Inclusion and Engagement and help create events to foster inclusion on campus.

Here at, I’m a marketing intern. I brainstorm content and advertising ideas, create content, and gather the analytics. I’m really excited to be working here, so that I can first-hand experience the inner workings of a start-up. I’m still figuring out my future, however, I would like to go into business law and corporate legal consulting.

Hey! My name is Jackson Monroe, and I am a senior at Washington and Lee University studying English and strategic communication. Aside from loving to write, hence my majors, I love being outside. I’m an avid hiker and someone who plans vacations around adventures rather than relaxation. I always choose the mountains over the beach. At W&L, I am a Peer Counselor and an employee of the school’s safe ride program.

With OneClick, I am creating a bunch of content that you can see on our social media channels and blog. I am nonstop writing copy for ads, posts, websites, and everything in between. Working for a startup has been a great learning experience, and I’m excited to look back to see how much I have accomplished and grown.

Hey! I’m Lauren and am a rising senior at Washington and Lee University. I am majoring in Business Administration with a focus in strategic management, and minoring in German. I love to garden and am a die-hard Philly sports fan (go birds). At school I am the treasurer of Generals Unity and a member of the Connolly Entrepreneurship Society, which is one of the reasons I was so excited to work with a start-up this summer.

At OneClick, I am serving as a marketing intern. My main responsibilities have been to create videos and other content for social media, and to ensure we are incorporating Search Engine Optimization into all aspects of our website and content. I have already learned so much this summer that I feel will serve me well in any future job I hold, and I cannot wait to see where life takes me next.

Hi! I’m Coletta Fuller and I’m about to be a senior at Washington and Lee University. I am pursuing a degree in computer science and music, combined with a minor in creative writing. At the intersection of two of the three, I am a web developer with the major literary magazine, Shenandoah, which is funded and supported by the university. When I’m not coding, writing, or making music, you can find me elbow deep in my latest project- likely woodworking, gardening, or cooking, but I never know what will grab my interest next!

Currently, my focus with is on looking at how to make our product the best it can be. I’ve conducted UX interviews with older adults and researched how other companies do various things such as matching users with the content they’re most interested in. I’ve learned loads about product development, marketing, and most importantly, just how invaluable an experience it is to be working with a startup.

Want to learn about the creators of the article? is a startup video chat company that, through an NIH-funded study, enhanced its design for older adult users and proved the platform’s potential to improve health and quality of life outcomes by increasing opportunities for social engagement.
